Cookies and Sickness

I found a really good recipe for very yummy chocolate chip cookies on a blog called http://www.controllingmychaos.com/. They were very, very good!
For anyone who would like to try the recipe, it is definitely worth it.
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Cream together - 1 C. sugar, 1 C Brn. sugar, 1/3 C. shortening, 2/3 C. butter, 2 tsp vanilla
Add 2 eggs - don't over beat, mix until blended
Sift - 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 3 1/2 C. flour, add to mixture, again don't over beat.
Pour 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips into a separate bowl.
By rounded teaspoons press one cookie into chocolate chips, flattening out the cookie some. Place on un-greased cookie sheet, press down a little flatter. Press more chocolate chips into any empty spaces on cookies.
Bake for 8-11 minutes.
Caution....VERY MESSY....but VERY YUMMY! Let cool completely before storing.

Every one in our house seems to be ill with something at the moment. Emily came home from school today with the chills and a fever. (Zoey and Mia tried to keep her warm.)

After sharing his illness with everyone in the house, Jacob is back to his old self.

On another note, Kelsey was voted to be the 8th grader with the prettiest eyes for the year book. (I told her she could thank me for that, for some reason she wasn't amused.)

I think I need to make those today, it is snowing here and cookies sound so yummy! Your kids are adorable and I think Kelsey is a mini you.
