A Little Rewind Time...

I kind of feel like I have been a slacker lately updating what our family has been up to, so I'm playing a little catch up here....

A few weeks ago Kelsey was in a little ensemble/competition with her two of her friends from school. Kelsey tried to tell us there was no reason for the whole family to go....because she was SURE that we wouldn't be allowed to watch.....she was wrong....and leave it to me to embarrass the poor child. I took a PICTURE while she played, which I guess was a NO NO. Jennifer's dad and I got a scolding from the instructor who was grading them. I apologized and said we would know better for next year......whoops! Mike told me I SHOULD have known better and I promptly told him my parents took pictures of me all the time when I was doing these sorts of things growing up. I think they should have POSTED something or REQUESTED that no one took pictures when she saw us with our cameras. (Can you tell it STILL annoys me just a little?)

I went on a business trip to good old Lincoln Nebraska. (I read this week in the news that Nebraska is the happiest state in the U.S......all I can say about that bit of news is....HHMMM?)

Korina, Dr. Greer and I in front of the state capital building..... it was VERY cold there.

(Somewhere over Texas)
There are no direct flights anywhere close to going from Nebraska to the state of Washington. So we flew from Omaha to Houston, from Houston to Seattle. That was after we took an hour long shuttle bus from Lincoln to Omaha. The shuttle was driven by an old man who looked like he was 80. I was sure he was going to fall asleep going 70 mph and drive off the road and kill us all in a field of cows.

After the scary ride with the old man, I had to fly on a little jet that triggered instant claustrophobia for me. (It doesn't look so little in this picture, but it only seats 37.)

When I got home the kids and Mike had a surprise for me. We had a REALLY ugly laundry room that had old worn vinyl flooring and bright ugly yellow walls. The kids all helped Mike paint the room and pick out new tile. They all worked very hard....and not one of the kids let the secret out when I talked to them each night on the phone. Mike and my parents stacked the washer and dryer. I think they did a great job and they were all so excited for what they had done for me. I think they did a nice job:)
