Student of the Month

Emily was chosen to be the Student of the Month for 7th grade.

The recommending teacher wrote this nomination for Emily:

"Emily is always determined to do her best in whatever endeavor she is facing. She does so in a focused manner. She is kind to those around her and always sees the best in any situation."

That's my Emily! Way to go!!

Emily's Party

Emily was pretty insistent that she needed to have some kind of celebration for turning 13. It took me a while to say yes and then more time to decide when I might feel up to it. We kind of did a tea party theme, only without tea. Emily basically ran the whole party, which was nice for me. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, so I guess we will call it a success.

One month stats

Kendall had her one month well baby checkup on Wed. She is doing great!
Weight - 12 lbs. 10 ozs. This puts her in the 95th-100th percentile for weight. That is a 5.1 pound weight gain from her birth weight. Can you tell she likes to eat? She still makes a ton of noise when she nurses, sort of like she is getting the best meal ever.
Height - 21 3/4 inches....that is 2 1/4 inches in a month and this puts her in the 67th percentile for her height.
I'm happy that she is doing so well....but I would have liked her to be tiny for a little longer.
Clothing size - Mainly 3-6 months.
First real smile - Kendall has been smiling in her sleep since birth, but the first real smile goes to Kelsey. Last Thursday (12-30-10) when Kelsey was talking to Kendall, she gave her a smile when she was awake. We tend to get a smile or two from her each day now.
Disposition - Kendall is a very content baby. She rarely cries and when she is getting hungry she gives me quite a bit of warning by making little grunting sounds. She is always making the cutest little sounds when she sleeps.
Sleep - She likes to sleep most of the day and is going down at night between 1-2 a.m. This is a little hard on her mom, considering my first trip up to the bus is at 6:50 in the morning.
We are all still just enjoying every minute we get to love on this little girl.

Miss Em's 13th Birthday

Emily had her 13th birthday on the 4th of December. It will probably always be one of those special birthdays. Besides turning 13 and becoming a official teenager, her new baby sister came home that day.
Her birthday was celebrated on two different days. First she opened a few presents on Sat., then on Sunday my mom made Emily a birthday cake.

A few things about Emily:

-She is still pretty sweet.

-She would probably take over all mothering duties for her new sister if she could.

-Enjoys playing the flute in two different bands at school.

-Is a very good student, she had a 4.0 all through last year and this year is looking to be the same.

-Has a beautiful singing voice and loves to act in plays.

-Is a very good friend.

-Loves anything that has to do with Twilight.

-Still likes to act like a drama queen sometimes ;)

-Is very loving.

Happy Birthday Emily!

One Month

Today I am one month old. Everyone says that I am growing so fast and that they can see my cheeks getting bigger by the day. My mom says she is going to take my picture with this brown bear every month so we can see how I change from month to month.

I still like to sleep almost all of the time and my next favorite thing to do is eat....a lot.

My brother and sisters like to spend a lot of time with me. Sometimes they wake me up because they can't stop kissing my round cheeks. I'm starting to grow out of my 0-3 month clothes already, that makes my mom a little sad. She wants me to stay little for a while.

Last week my big brother told me that he loves having a little sister. I'm glad that everyone loves me so much.
